SUMMARY:Joint UKAIS & Digit event: Special Issue on The Changing Nature of
Creativity in the Era of GenAI\, Information Systems Frontiers
DESCRIPTION:Time: Sep 12\, 2024 02:00-3:00PM London\nGuest Editors:\nPetros
Chamakiotis\, ESCP Business School\, Spain &amp\; Associate Fellow at ESR
C-funded Digital Futures at Work Research Centre\, University of Sussex\nN
 iki Panteli\, Lancaster University\, UK\nStephen Jackson\, Ontario Tech Un
 iversity\, Canada\nEmmanouil Koukoumidis\, Learning Machines AI\, USA\nSum
mary:\nDespite the rich and cross-disciplinary literature on creativity at
the individual\, team\, and organizational level\, the emergence of Artif
icial Intelligence (AI)\, and more recently\, Generative Artificial Intell
igence (GenAI) puts into question the relevance of existing knowledge in t
his area. Contrary to traditional AI\, GenAI has the ability to produce no
 vel content\, including audio\, images\, text\, and videos. Our proposed S
pecial Issue (SI) seeks to build on an emerging interest with implications
both within and beyond the Information Systems (IS) community\, by explor
ing how these recent developments especially around GenAI influence creati
vity in organizations. Is GenAI a threat to human and organizational creat
ivity? Does GenAI “compete” with humans\, or could it complement human
creativity and what is the role of organizations and managers in this era
? These are only some of the questions we aim to shed light on with our SI
in our effort to develop new understandings around creativity and GenAI.
The Session will introduce the Call for Special issue and what is expected
from submitted papers. It will also give the opportunity to participants
to ask questions to the Guest editors as well as find out more about the p
aper developmental workshop that is scheduled for November.\nDetails on th
