Advocacy and Policy

UKAIS acts in an advocacy role for IS as an academic subject and also for the wider community of practice and society. Its members contribute to debates about the role of IS, ethical issues and policy. UKAIS has been asked to contribute to many debates, and influence policy, regarding such issues as cybercrime, artificial Intelligence (AI), systems development, IT outsourcing, and many others. UKAIS nominates Panel Members for the UK Research Assessment Exercise (REF) and UKAIS members have represented the discipline on all relevant Panels.
