UKAIS Fellowship Criteria

UKAIS Fellowship nominations are judged on three criteria, namely a substantial and original contribution to the field of information systems and an active involvement in UKAIS matters.

  • Contribution to the field of information systems can be demonstrated through developing new insights, methods or substantial empirical achievements which have been recognised internationally. Such recognition may be in the form of high-esteem publication in international journals, practice-oriented publications and reports, significant contribution to information systems pedagogic research and practice, etc.
  • The second criterion can be demonstrated though an active and continuous engagement in UKAIS matters. Such engagement can be demonstrated by contributing to the leadership of the Academy, supporting the annual conference, mentoring doctoral students and taking part in the consortium, being actively involved in the UKAIS public engagement etc.

Fellowship candidates qualify for nomination by virtue of their accomplishments related to all criteria.

Nomination And Process

Nominations are reviewed once a year. Nominations for Fellowships can be made up to 2 months before the Annual Conference. Nominations can only be accepted from active UKAIS members. Once nominations are received, they are to be evaluated against the criteria and voted by the UKAIS Board and existing Fellows. The decision to appoint new Fellows is then announced at the Annual Conference. UKAIS typically makes up to 3 Fellowship appointments a year.

If a Fellow’s UKAIS membership lapses they will cease to be a Fellow and will not be able to nominated again for five years.

To submit a nomination please email a statement (up to 1 page of A4) as to how you meet the UKAIS Fellowship Criteria, attaching an up-to-date CV.
