Our membership benefits revolve around the key areas listed below:

Events: Joining UKAIS provides a forum for discussions and members have access to a range of online and in-person events, including the annual UKAIS Conference, which attracts leading scholars from the UK and overseas. These events are typically very popular and access to them is an important part of membership. The Conference is the highlight of the year with a range of national and international keynote speakers. It provides opportunities not only for established researchers but also for early career researchers to submit Development Papers to help disseminate and get feedback on their research.

Research Funding: A key part of the UKAIS mission is to support IS research which is done by providing Research Grants to members that support cutting-edge practice orientated reports on current IS/IT issues of interest to academic and practitioner communities regarding innovation in IS/IT.

Teaching Grants: UKAIS originally evolved from a UK teaching based conference and teaching remains a core element of its role. It provides Teaching Innovation Grants that support the exploration, implementation, and evaluation of new and emerging pedagogies, practices, and technologies.

Teaching Innovation Awards: UKAIS also has an award for Teaching Innovation which recognises significant teaching practice for sharing. Members can submit their innovative practice for consideration for the award.

Mentoring: Our community recognises the importance of supporting and nurturing the next generation of IS researchers to enable them to develop professionally and personally. The UKAIS mentoring scheme underpins this commitment.

Fellowship awards: UKAIS Fellowship Awards recognise members who have made outstanding contributions to the information systems discipline when it comes to research, teaching and service to the community.

Doctoral Thesis Competition: UKAIS provides the Doctoral Thesis Competition for PhD students to win an award and gain recognition for their work.

UKAIS Advocacy and Policy: One of the most important roles of UKAIS is to advocate and support IS as an academic subject, and practice, in the UK and beyond.
