Teaching in higher education is as much about navigating people, policies, and programmes as it is about standing at the front of a classroom. UKAIS invites you to this interactive workshop on 26th November, which draws on over 60 years of collective experience to explore the practicalities of academic life: leading modules, developing curricula, and delivering engaging sessions. Through real-world scenarios, collaborative activities, and open discussion, you’ll gain insights into the everyday challenges and joys of university teaching. Come for the coffee, stay for the stories, and leave with practical tools (and confidence) to shape your own teaching journey.

Who is the workshop for? The workshop is for those starting on their learning and teaching journey. It is suitable for PGR (PhD and DBA) students as well as for those in the early years of their academic careers. It is open to UKAIS members and non-members.
What will be the key takeaways? You will work on practical scenarios to understand and develop the key skills needed to lead modules, develop module content, and manage the practical delivery of teaching in challenging HE environments. Additionally, all workshop attendees will receive a Certificate of Attendance.
What does it cost? The workshop is free to attend. Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
Where is the event? The event will be hosted at the University of Salford.
